Founded in 1869, the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (UNL) in Lincoln in the US state of Nebraska is the largest of the three campuses of the state-run University of Nebraska, along with Omaha and Kearney. 

With around 22,000 students, it is the largest university in the state of Nebraska with a wide range of degree programmes. Due to the region, the main focus is on agricultural science.

The sports groups are affiliated with the Big Ten Conference and are particularly successful in American football.

Texas State University is a public university in San Marcos in the US state of Texas. It was founded in 1899. With 27,503 students, it is the largest campus in the Texas State University System and the sixth largest university in Texas. The university is particularly known for its research and teaching in the fields of geography and music education.

Texas State University's sports teams, commonly known as the Bobcats, play in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I and Sun Belt Conference.

The University of British Columbia (UBC) is a public university in the Canadian province of British Columbia. It was founded in 1908. The 209-hectare campus is the research and innovation centre in the province's southern interior, in British Columbia's Okanagan Valley, and is home to over 11,562 undergraduate and graduate students. UBC Okanagan has 62 undergraduate and 19 graduate programmes.

Of the 66,512 students enrolled in the 2019/2020 academic year, 55,804 were enrolled on the Vancouver campus and 10,708 were enrolled in Okanagan. Of these, 18,283 (27.5%) counted as international students.
